Heat and firing stages
Kiln shows a bonding curve as a firing. Progress toward graduation is read as kiln temperature, from 20°C at launch to 1,280°C when the curve sells out. The scale is a reading aid only; it maps one to one onto HYPE raised.
| Stage | Curve progress |
|---|---|
| Greenware | 0 to 25% |
| Bisque | 25 to 60% |
| Glaze | 60 to 90% |
| Peak | 90 to 100% |
| Fired | Graduated. The curve is closed and reserves are locked |
Witness cones
Each launch carries three witness cones, like the ones potters stand in a kiln. They slump at one third, two thirds, and the full curve, so you can read a launch at a glance.
